Certificate of Commendation

This award is given where someone has given practical help in a life-threatening situation without being in any danger themselves.

For instance, a Certificate of Commendation might go to someone who has stayed with an injured person, talking to them until medical help arrives. Or who has given practical assistance to a qualified doctor or paramedic at the scene of an accident.
