Police Medal

Royal Humane Society Police Medal The Police Medal was introduced in January 2000 to honour the police officer who has shown "courage of the highest order" during the preceding year.

It is therefore awarded to a policeman or woman who has already won either a Silver or Bronze Medal. The Committee meets in December every year to make a selection from that short-list.

Below is a list of the winners to date.

Date Name Force Incident Case No

PC David John Dudley
Cambridgeshire Rescued 2 men from a house fire 84,249
2001 PC Paul Brown Metropolitan Rescued one man and attempted to rescue a second from a burning car 84,113
2000 PC Wayne Martin Bedfordshire Pulled a woman out of a burning car, which then exploded 83,842
